Rodolfo Ramirez went missing from a campsite in the area of Crow Creek on the Wind River Indian Reservation on Saturday, July 6th, 2019. Rudolfo Ramirez is a Hispanic male, 5’11” 165 pounds. The Fremont County Sheriff’s Office and members of Fremont County Search and Rescue assisted BIA and Tribal Fish and Game officials with an exhaustive search of the area but no sign of the missing man was found. County 10 received information this week from the Jon Francis Foundation (JFF) about their assistance searching for Rudy last week, August 16th-18th. The nonprofit foundation is based in Minnesota and has been searching for missing people since 2006. JFF Executive Director David Francis said, “One of the dog handlers was aware of the Jon Francis Foundation and gave my contact information to [Rudy’s] family.” The family then reached out to David for help.

JFF, Fremont County Sheriff’s Office, Tribal Game & Fish, and K9 units performed an extensive, three-day search operation in the Crow Creek Basin. Six K9 teams were deployed each day and David noted that they did have “K9 Clues” (interest and alerts to human scent in the air and water) during their search. They were concentrated in one area about 1.2 miles south of the campsite. Unfortunately, no signs of Rudy were found.
