(Lander, WY) – Mayor Monte Richardson of Lander has some big news for the folks of Lander and anyone else looking for a fun community event:
Mayor Richardson, the Lander VFW Post 954 & Auxiliary, and various citizens and local groups have come together to start the 1st Annual Lander Community Pig Roast.
The event will take place in Lander City Park on September 18th, at 1:00 PM, and even though the whole purpose of the roast is to provide the citizens of Lander with a fun filled community event, everyone will be welcome to the feast.
While still in the early planning stages, expect music (from Lander locals The Dystopians, and other area bands), games, raffles, prizes, food, alcohol for purchase, face painting, scavenger hunts, and there are even rumblings of a dunk tank that Mayor Richardson may have graciously volunteered for…
The only thing you’re expected to bring is your own chair or blanket to sit on, and a good attitude.
For an event of this size to be pulled off, the organizers are officially requesting any and all volunteers and sponsors. People will be needed to help shred the hog, serve food, organize events, clean up during and after, and any other duty as necessary.
The roasting will begin at 1AM, and the event will go on through the evening, depending on the final schedule.
