    In loving memory, Jeannie St. John Portlock

    Services for Elsie “Jeannie” Portlock will be held on Thursday June 13, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Cornerstone Community Church in Riverton.

    Elsie Jeanette Portlock passed away in peace and comfort at the Help For Health hospice home on Monday June 10, 2024, surrounded by her family.

    Jeannie St. John was born October 21, 1944, in Lander, WY to Earl Addison and Alice Mae
    Angel St. John.

    Jeannie lived in many Wyoming towns, including Lander, Casper, Moorcroft, Douglas,
    Thermopolis, Moneta, Gas Hills, Jackson, Cody, Pavilion, Kinnear and Riverton.
    Jeannie met the love of her life, JC Portlock and they were married November 8, 1964 at the Pavillion Methodist Church.

    Together, they had three children – Karla, Tina and Jesse, who were the loves of her life.

    Later in life, Jeannie was reunited with her long lost son, Monte Gibbs. It was truly a dream
    come true for her. Monte has been a wonderful gift and blessing to her family.

    Jeannie was a very kind and loving person, who was adored by everyone who met her. She
    spent many years working as the “Patty Maker” at Clark’s Meat House. Later, she worked as a School Bus Driver, CNA, Para Professional at School District 25. Her most treasured position was as a Foster Grandparent at Aspen Elementary School. She loved the little children and the teachers dearly. She was affectionately called “Grandma Jeannie” by all who knew her.

    Jeannie is survived by her children: Monte (Robynn) Gibbs of Huntington Beach, CA, Karla
    (David) Borders and Tina Pugh of Riverton. Grandchildren Kourtney (Royce) Hanger – Riverton, Justin Gibbs of Huntington Beach, CA, Jesse Pugh of Riverton. Great Grand Children – Hayden, Dylan and Laela Hanger. Sister, Noma (Dennis) Johnson of Colorado Springs, CO and a very special niece – Norma Good and family, along with numerous nieces and nephews, all of which shared a very special place in her heart.

    Jeannie was preceded in death by her parents, husband JC Portlock, Son Jesse Portlock,
    Grand Son Kristopher Snyder, Son-in-law George Pugh, Jr, Nephew James Caples and Siblings Robert St.John, Patsy St. John Hess, Betty St. John Brow Hinkle, Marjorie St. John Trimmer, Elaine St. John Swisher and Kay Michael.
