(Riverton, WY) – The Riverton Police Department(RPD) and Fremont County School District (FCSD) #25 would like to remind citizens that school will be back in session August 24th, and to be aware of the 20 mph speed limit zones near schools.
Officers will be patrolling and strictly enforcing the school zone speed limit throughout the school year.
Also be aware that it is illegal to pass a school bus with flashing red lights, even if you are driving the legal speed limit.
RPD and FCSD #25 also ask that drivers please pay special attention when approaching crosswalks, and to watch for crossing guards and students crossing the roadway.
