Governor Gordon: “We want to open as quickly as we can, but as safe as we can” [VIDEO]

Wyoming Governor Mark Gordon delivered remarks today from Cheyenne in regard to his plan for the easing of some restrictions, while still being mindful of the dangers of COVID-19.

Governor Gordon announced the process of easing restrictions for businesses such as barbershops, cosmetologists, and gyms. He said that bars and restaurants are going through a, “refined plan” for reopening. “It’s critical we be measured in our approach, especially given the associated health risks with these businesses,” he said.

The current public health orders in place will expire on April 30th. The Governor announced a modification to those orders will be implemented early next week and continue through May 15th. The orders will allow county health officers to submit requests for variances on a countywide basis. Variances will be considered based on local health conditions.
