A Note from the Office of Indian Education at Fort Washakie School:
Each year Fort Washakie School staff and students recognize and honor our men and women in uniform for their service to our country. This is a long standing tradition and is our honor and our privilege.
Due to the Covid-19 Pandemic, we have redesigned the way in which we will honor our Veterans. This year we plan to have a Veterans Day “Warrior Road”. Although we will not be able to gather in a large crowd for an assembly, we will have a drive through meal and display for our Veterans.
The displays will be set up in the front of the Elementary school commons and will feature student writings and pictures of Veterans past and present. Our Veterans and Women’s Auxiliary will be able to drive through the front entrance, stop and pick up their meal and gift, and depart through the exit by the tree line.
The exhibit will be open from 11AM through 12 PM. All Veterans are asked to drive through starting at 11 AM where we will have our staff standing by to say hello and to salute our heroes!
Parents and community may drive through starting at 11:30 AM to view exhibits and pick up a meal. We ask that everyone follow the social distancing measures and remain in their vehicles. To see images of past Veterans Day assemblies, you can check out the Fort Washakie School Facebook Page.

If you are a Veteran but cannot make it to the drive through event, please call Lynette at 332-2380 so arrangements can be made for a home delivery.
