    Dog sledders in Lander February 2nd & 3rd

    (Lander, WY) – 25 mushers and their teams are expected in Lander on the evening of February 2nd for Stage Five of the annual Pedigree Stage Stop Race. Teams will then begin taking off in 3-minute intervals starting at 9:00 am on February 3rd from the Louis Lake Trailhead parking lot.

    As part of the COVID protocol this year, the Meet the Mushers event will not be taking place in Lander. Spectators are also not encouraged in the staging area, but to follow the Pedigree Stage Stop Race Facebook page or website for videos and updates. Anyone who does plan to watch in-person along the trail is asked to not bring their dogs.

    This seven-stage race covers public lands of the Bridger-Teton, Shoshone, and Caribou-Targhee National Forests. They are competing for $165,000 in prize money and the title of “Stage Stop Champion.”
