    Wyoming Indian and Fort Washakie School students assist with doe mule deer study

    Wyoming Indian and Fort Washakie High Schools had an opportunity to take a few students to conduct a catch and release study of doe mule deer migration on the Wind River Indian Reservation through a University of Wyoming and Wyoming Game and Fish Department program last Friday.

    This is the 2nd year of the study and the student’stook blood and fecal samples, measuring the amount of body fat the animals had, and pregnancy information.

    Students traveled to 3 different sites on the Wind River Indian Reservation to gather deer from different herds.

    The schools will have a presentation from the G&F in mid-May to follow up on the data that has been collected so far.
