    Wind River girls finish second at 2A state volleyball

    Lady Cougars finish second at 2A state volleyball

    The Wind River Lady Cougar volleyball team is the first in school history to advance to the state championship game.

    Unfortunately for Wind River fans, the Lady Cougars best – for now, will be second place. 

    After knocking off Glenrock in 4 sets Thursday, and Wright in 5 sets Friday, Wind River ran up against a very good Sundance team. The Lady Bulldogs prevailed in a 3 set sweep, winning 25-13, 25-18, and 26-24.

    Riverton’s girls took 4th in class 4A. They fell to Cheyenne East twice, in the quarter-finals Thursday and the 3rd place game Saturday. RHS beat Rock Springs in 4 sets on Friday and swept Laramie Saturday morning.

    Lander’s ladies lost to Douglas in a tough 5 set match Thursday, bounced back to sweep Buffalo Friday, but then fell to Pinedale Saturday morning in 5 sets.

    Rawlins swept Worland in the 3A championship game. Cokeville beat Saratoga in 3 sets in the 1A championship. Thunder Basin is playing Kelly Walsh in the 4A championship.
