Wednesday evening at 4:29 p.m., Riverton authorities received a call about a house on fire in the 600 block of East Fremont Street.
The Riverton Fire Department, Fremont County Sheriff’s Office, Riverton Police Department, and Guardian EMS all responded.
Smoke could be seen exiting the top of the house, through a chimney, and out the front and back windows. Firefighters worked both inside the house and on the roof to control the fire. While the smoke was substantial, the majority of the house did not appear to be on fire.
Riverton Volunteer Fire Department Assistant Chief Henri DeClercq confirmed with County 10 that there were no injuries in the incident. He also said the house was vacant. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
