The American Red Cross (ARC) of Wyoming is looking for Fremont County community members to join their Disaster Action Team (DAT). DAT members are trained volunteers who are able and willing to respond during local emergencies.

“When people think about Red Cross and what we do, most people think about certified trainings, blood drives and responding to large national disasters, and that is absolutely a large part of our mission to alleviate human suffering,” shared Volunteer Recruitment Manager Josh Stewart. “However, we do so much more than that. In Wyoming, we offer a variety of programs to help every community be prepared for disaster both large and small, including the Wyoming Home Fire Campaign and The Pillowcase Project.”

Over the last year, ARC has installed over 100 smoke alarms in residences across Fremont County and helped for than 40 elementary students learn about fire safety on the Wind River Reservation, explained Josh.

Josh has organized several opportunities in Fremont County in the coming weeks to learn more about what ARC does and how to get started. He will be in Fremont County from January 30th through February 4th. If your schedule doesn’t allow you to attend one of these meetings, please reach out to Josh (information below) if you’d like to schedule a time to meet with him between those dates.

Below is a list of where he will be located in the coming weeks, some of which will include additional staff and volunteers:
