Trio of Fremont County football players set to compete in Shrine Bowl

Three athletes will represent Fremont County on the gridiron this Saturday at the annual Wyoming Shrine Bowl.

The Shrine Bowl serves as Wyoming’s “All-Star” football game each summer and is held at Cheney Alumni Field in Casper at Natrona County High School.

Lander Valley High School’s Max Mazurie and Conrad Swenson will compete with Riverton High School’s Treyton Paxton to all represent the North team.

The 46th annual event will kick off Saturday, June 8th at 2:00 p.m.

The north team will be coached by Buffalo’s Rob Hammond, the south team will be under the direction of Big Piney’s Aaron Makelky.

Each year the Shrine Bowl festivities include a trip for the athletes and coaches to Salt Lake City. Athletes are given the chance to meet and interact with children who are at Shriners Hospital for Children. The game serves as a fundraiser for the hospital and gives student-athletes an opportunity to learn more about the young patients.

This year, players were also invited to an ice cream social in Evanston.
