Riverton Mayor John “Lars” Baker announced a proclamation near the conclusion of Tuesday night’s City Council meeting.
The proclamation announced that November 1st, 2018 will be known as “Extra Mile Day” in Riverton.
Extra Mile Day is part of a nationwide campaign to help recognize those who are empowering their community and making their hometowns a better place to live.
Mayor Baker urged citizens to do what they can to “go the extra mile” in Riverton and help make our community a great place. He also hopes that community members will take time to recognize those going above-and-beyond in community projects.
Riverton joins just over 500 communities nationwide who will be recognizing Extra Mile Day.
Mayors from Cheyenne, Green River, Jackson, and Rock Springs have recently all signed proclamations announcing their support of the day as well.
