Riverton man leads RPD on short foot chase after traffic violation

A 37-year old Riverton man, Jacob Lujan, is accused of resisting arrest after Riverton Police officers attempting to pull him over for a traffic violation.

The violation occurred at the intersection of North 5th street at East Main Street at 10:11 p.m. on Saturday, August 11th.

According to the police call log, the pursuit did not last long, before Lujan allegedly exited his vehicle and ran on foot.

Riverton Police Captain Todd Byerly told County 10, “the report is not clear how long the foot chase was, but it does not appear that it was more than a block foot chase.”

Lujan was arrested on 2 outstanding Riverton Municipal Warrants and charged with Resisting Arrest.
