The Riverton Fire Department were dispatched to the area of South 8th West and Main Street Thursday just before 12:30 p.m. for a report of a small grass fire.
Scanner traffic indicated the fire likely began by a transformer. A power pole was tipped over by about 3/4 on location.
Power may be affected for some in the area and as of 1:00 p.m. Thursday the traffic signal at 8th West and Main Street is not functioning.
