A Red Flag Warning is in place for most of Fremont County for at least Thursday and Friday, this includes the communities of Riverton and Lander.
According to the National Weather Service office in Riverton, temperatures are between 5-15 degrees above normal for this time of year, and humidity is very low. Wind gusts between 30-40 mph are also contributing to the very high fire danger. The outlook over the next couple weeks suggests that temperatures may remain slightly above normal for September.
