    Longtime Wind River educator heads to Big Piney

    (Pavillion, WY) – Dr. Charles Jenks has worked at Fremont County School District #6 for over a decade, and he recently accepted the position of superintendent at Sublette County School District #9.

    His entire educational career has been at Wind River. Going from teacher to special education director and the last five years he has been the middle school and high school principal.

    “The 13 years have been wonderful,” he noted about working in the district. “I had a lot of great opportunities, and absolutely love Wind River.”

    He shared leaving is bittersweet since this is where he raised his family and started his career. However, he is excited to be closer to more family in southwest Wyoming.

    “I could envision myself being there a lot more years,” he shared about Wind River. 

    He will finish out the school year here in Fremont County, and begin his new contract in Big Piney on July 1st.

    He left us with one final statement – “Go Cougars!”
