WRTA Holiday Shuttle for UW Students picking up next week in Laramie

If you’ve got kids traveling between Laramie and home, you know the snowy season can be stressful. With the first shuttle (Thanksgiving) being a success, we’ve opted to offer this for the Holiday post-semester break starting next week.

With several hundred of Fremont County’s kids in Laramie that’s what we thought, too. So, County 10, in partnership with Wind River Transit Authority (WRTA), Wyoming Department of Transportation (WYDOT) and Injury Prevention Resources (IPR) are chartering a shuttle to provide round-trip transportation for Thanksgiving break from UW to stops in Lander and Riverton.

Details for reserving a seat on the shuttle
Important to note that this is a first-come-first-served opportunity as there are limited seats. It’s only $40 to reserve a seat on the roundtrip shuttle from Riverton/Lander to the University of Wyoming. The dates and time for the shuttle pickup in Laramie at the bus stop on the east side of the Union at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, December 18th and drop off in Lander at 5:00 pm at WYDOT’s facility at (101 Buena Vista Drive) and at 5:30 in Riverton at the WYDOT facility (3615 West Main Street). Pick up at the Riverton location is 9:00 am on Friday, January 25th and at 9:30 am in Lander with drop off at the University of Wyoming at 12:30 pm. For that Sunday return to Laramie, the Laramie/UW buses won’t be running so WRTA will drop off at the Union and also help transport students to housing if needed as well. There will be no refunds of the fee ($40).

“We continue to be excited that we’re able to offer this shuttle and that these partners (WYDOT, Injury Prevention Resources and County 10) continue to support the venture,” said WRTA Director Gary Michaud. “And, we’re excited to have been asked to use our buses for this cause.” In the interest of efficiency, the buses will only make two stops, however, all Fremont County and Wind River Indian Reservation residents traveling to Laramie are invited to take advantage of this service.

If you have further questions about the shuttle service, please call WRTA at: 307-856-7118
