Bill Bush Stadium at Lander Valley High School is on schedule for a massive upgrade in spring 2019.
According to LVHS Athletics Director Serol Stauffenberg, the Lander School Board approved a renovation plan to their current football and track facility. The plan includes the installation of turf to the playing surface, a new track, and new lights.
The upgrades should be ready for the 2019 fall sports season.
The construction process will mean that Lander cannot host the 1A/2A West regional track meet in 2019. Shoshoni will instead host the track meet, set for May 10th and 11th.
In 2020, the 1A/2A West Regional track meet will go back to Lander. Additionally, in 2020 it’s LVHS’ turn to host the 3A West track meet, so it will be a three-class meet.
In October 2019, it will also be Lander’s turn to host the 3A West regional volleyball tournament.
Hosting the event will cause a gym conflict with the 1A/2A West regional, which is annually held in Lander. For 2019 only, the 1A/2A West regional volleyball tournament will be moved to Riverton High School. It returns to Lander in 2020.
