Lander Fire responds to “suspicious package” call Wednesday; Was simply someone’s lunch

The Lander Fire Department responded to Enterprise Boulevard Wednesday around 1:02 p.m. for a report of a suspicious package.

Lander Volunteer Fire Department Chief Bobby Johnston explained the situation to County 10,

Fire personnel assessed the situation in full protective gear as a precaution and found that the package was, in fact, a plastic bin with someone’s snack food items that likely fell off a trailer or truck. Luckily the call came in just after 1:00 p.m. and fire crews had already eaten lunch, so no food was consumed from the bin during the investigation. The mystery bin was handed over to WLRC (Wyoming Life Resource Center) staff in the event the owner returned to retrieve it.
