A few hundred Fremont County residents walked down Lander’s Main Street during the chilly morning hours of January 18th for the “Women’s March on Lander.”
County 10 shared in our earlier post, the march was organized this year to raise community awareness on a multitude of societal issues spanning from human rights to domestic violence. “Whether you were there for one issue or ALL of the issues, Fremont County showed up to acknowledge their passion and commitment to a variety of social and civil topics,” shared march organizer Cristina Gonzalez.

The march started at Dairy Land, headed down Main Street and culminated at Centennial Park, where several speakers addressed the crowd. One of the guest speakers, HD 33 Representative Andi Clifford, formally announced her plan to run for re-election. Cristina explained she was honored that all the speakers and especially the MMIW movement of the Wind River Reservation, chose to spend a chilly January morning with them.
There is already a plan to continue the march next year, Cristina noted. She also shared appreciation to the community at large and ended with “…be kind to yourself, and always, be most excellent to each other.”
