    ‘High Wind Watch’ issued for most of Fremont County Wednesday

    (Fremont County, WY) – The National Weather Service of Riverton has issued a High Wind Watch for January 13th. The area of the watch covers the majority of Fremont County which is in effect late Wednesday morning through late Wednesday evening.

    30-40 mph northwest winds with gusts up to 60 mph is forecast for Dubois, Riverton, and Shoshoni. The Jeffrey City-area is expected to have 35-45 mph winds with gusts up to 65 mph. Travel will be difficult for high profile vehicles.

    We shared earlier today snow is also expected overnight and into Wednesday.

    Wind is currently impacting South Pass (WY-28). WYDOT has issued an “extreme blow over risk” advisory is in place right now, and it is closed to “light, high profile vehicles due to active blowovers in the area.”
