Central Wyoming Basketball splits with Northwest College on sophomore night

(Riverton, WY) – It’s game day once again for rustler basketball as they are on the road to Powell to close out the regular season today (Monday).

Central earned a split in conference play at home on Saturday.   Liv Knapp hit six three pointers and scored 33 points in an 80 to 72 win over northwest. Her 33 is the second most single game points since 2008 for Central. The win solidifies the Rustlers as a five seed for the regional play-in and tonight’s game may determine who that first round opponent will be. Northwest will play LCCC Tuesday to end the regular season.

The Rustler men’s team didn’t score the final 2 minutes of the game as Northwest scored the final 10 points in a 95 to 86 Trapper victory. Niieeihii Blackbear (Knee-ay-hee) scored 19 points with 12 rebounds off the bench. Juan Camargo went off for 34 for the visitors.  Central put the trappers to the line 31 times in the contest.
