Arizona Bowl creates new beer in anticipation of Wyoming fans
In 2004, Wyoming beat UCLA in the Las Vegas Bowl. Sam Boyd Stadium ran out of beer – yes a Las Vegas event – completely out of beer.
Years later, the Las Vegas Bowl staff still tells the tale of the time Wyoming fans, “drank the stadium out of beer.” The Las Vegas Review Journal in fact just highlighted that story again in a recent article.
This season, Wyoming football finished 7-5 overall and was selected to play for the first time ever in the Nova Home Loans Arizona Bowl.
Ticket sales through the University of Wyoming box office sold out of their initial allotment of 2,500 in less than 3 days. An additional 2,500 tickets given to UW didn’t last long either.

The Arizona Bowl committee and Tucson-based Barrio Brewing Company quickly did the math, that many Wyoming fans at a bowl game… means, a lot of potential beer sales.
Enter, the Arizona Bowl Brew.
The Vienna lager will be available for Pokes fans inside Wildcat Stadium and at the pre-and-post game parties around town. According to Inside Tucson Business, it’s a “beautiful, mild, malt-forward and slightly sweet drinker.”
