#Activate10: Stone family thanks community for support during son’s cancer journey

Our community is large and wildly diverse, which is at the same time our strength and our weakness. #Activate10 is a movement seeking to increase communication between individuals and organizations across Fremont County and to promote positive action in our communities.

Caleb Stone was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia in May 2016 at the age of 3. Since then, Caleb has undergone three years of treatments and his final round of chemotherapy ended last month. Caleb’s mom Kristen Stone shared, “He just finished oral meds, his port was taken out and next month he has an echocardiogram, blood testing, and to meet with his oncologist about the future.”  Caleb will be monitored for the next 5 years to make sure it doesn’t come back and to watch for side effects from everything.

Kristen said, “Without the help and support from the community things would have been even more stressful.”

Kristen noted the following fundraisers and supporters through Caleb’s cancer journey: The Boot put on a Poker Run; Sylvia Stone and friends did a bake sale; Wind River Cougars raised money, had an auction and donated their funds; the community also donated to an account we had set up and a GoFund me account; ITC Electrical; and Jason’s Friends Foundation in Casper.

Kristen said, “We would like the community to know how thankful our family is for everything.”
