    ACT scores in Wyoming dropped slightly in 2018; Remains below national average

    ACT scores across Wyoming fell slightly for the class of 2018, according to the Wyoming Tribune Eagle.

    Wyoming Department of Education Communications Director Kari Eakins said that in 2017 the average ACT score was 20.2, while in 2018 it dropped to 20.

    The score is based on the average earned in four core areas of English, math, reading, and science. The national average composite score was 20.8 in 2018, down from 21 in 2017.

    Additionally, the national scores fell in all four core areas from 2017 to 2018. Wyoming is one of 19 states in which the ACT’s are required for juniors.
