We’ve collected a list of six ways to get through the midday slump.

Break the routine.

The first problem with your day is its ongoing lack of change. Right around 2’clock your probably up to the same tasks you’ve been assigned every day. Take a 15-minute break right around 2 o’clock. Most jobs allow employees to take one, but instead of contemplating the rest of the day in the break room try mixing it up.

Ask co-worker to take it at the same time as you, spark an enlightening conversation. Can’t find one? Call a friend, better yet, call your mother, she misses you.

Quit skipping your lunches

If your 8-hour shift allows you to take one, don’t skip it.

Take a late lunch at around 1 pm and when you get back at 2 pm you only have to deal with 3 more hours. Don’t work an 8-5? Well, you can figure out the math. Try and log most of your hours at the beginning of your shift and when you are feeling the most refreshed. A smaller workload in the second part of your day will make the afternoon go by quick.

15 minute work out

It’s common knowledge that workouts emit endorphins.

Maybe yoga, cardio or whatever new workout fad is trending at the moment. Make it something you like and don’t make chore. If you have to force yourself to go for a run, it’s probably not the workout for you.

Take a walk

While the weather is still warm, enjoy it. Take a stroll.

Bring a snack

Are you ready to go home or just a little hangry? Once you open up your drawer and find a Snicker’s waiting for you, it’ll boost your mood.

Stash a couple in your desk and offer them to coworkers. It’ll cure their cranky mood too.
