    Judith Marcella Hubbard

It is with great sadness to announce that Judith Marcella Hubbard, age 70, of Riverton, Wyoming passed away from COVID pneumonia on October 28, 2021. Judy was born on August 27, 1951 in Riverton to Marcella and Jent Hubbard. She graduated from Riverton High School, class of 1969 and attended Casper College and Central Wyoming College. Judy retired from the financial aid office of Central Wyoming College in 2011.

Judy loved the outdoors, camping and fishing, especially in the Wind River Mountains of Fremont County. Being invited to her kitchen on brook trout night showed her hospitality and her love of fishing mountain streams. She was a kind, caring and very generous person with an open mind, open heart and many times an open door. As a child, Judy grew up in a very active 4-H family and was known for her years of blue-ribbon entries at the Fremont County Fair. She loved arts and crafts and was a wonderful and creative seamstress as well as very involved in family genealogy. But her most cherished passion was being a grandma and great-grandma and getting to spend as much time as possible with her precious grandkids.

Judy married Ron Lain in 1969 and together they had three children. They were divorced for 27 years and rekindled their relationship, sharing a household in Riverton. Judy and Ron were both hospitalized at the same time and sadly Ron also died of COVID pneumonia just nine minutes after Judy.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents, brother John Hubbard and sister Betty Sheveland.
She is survived by her children Rex Lain of Riverton, Skot Lain (Jaime) of Riverton, and Heather Mascarenaz (Gilbert) of rural Riverton; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sisters Jeanette Cain of Idaho Falls, ID, Lisa Hubbard (Becky) of Casper, brothers Jent Hubbard (Joy) of Fountain Hills, AZ and David Hubbard (Pat) of Idaho Falls, ID; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Judy will always be remembered as a loving and sharing mother, grandmother, sister and friend who will be forever missed. She was a committed Christian and is now in the arms of God.
Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life for both Judy and Ron will be held at 11:00 am on December 4, 2021 at United Baptist Church, 1201 E. Pershing Ave. in Riverton, with lunch served afterwards.
