A 13-year-old Gillette boy was shot in the shoulder/upper chest area Saturday evening.
Gillette Police Department Lt. Brent Wasson said that the boy was transported from a Gillette hospital via helicopter to a hospital in Billings, Montana. The boy is recovering according to Wasson from non-life threatening injuries.
The Gillette News-Record reports that the boy’s older brother, a 24-year-old man was “holding a 9mm Ruger inside of a home when it went off.”
According to Gillette Police, no charges have been filed against the 24-year-old at this point. The case remains under investigation.
