Today, July 21st, Walmart announced a decision to close all their stores, including Sam’s Club locations, on Thanksgiving Day this year.
Walmart reportedly told USA Today that their stores have been open on Thanksgiving Day since the 80s.
“We know this has been a trying year, and our associates have stepped up. We hope they will enjoy a special Thanksgiving Day at home with their loved ones,” said John Furner, President and CEO of Walmart U.S.
Walmart stores and Sam’s Club locations will operate normal hours on Wednesday, November 25th, according to the announcement. Information for store and club hours on Friday, November 27th, will be shared at a later date.
