Plow and driver stuck on Sand Draw for over 6 hours Sunday

The section of WY-135 between WY-139 and Sweetwater Station Jct remains closed Monday evening with no estimated time of reopening.

According to WYDOT District 5 Facebook post, on Sunday a WYDOT plow truck and driver were sucked off the side of the highway by the deep snow and became stuck near the bottom of Beaver Rim from 9:00 am to 3:30 pm.

“The roadway was a mess, and it was nearly impossible to see the roadway in the 40-mph-plus winds,” the post said. “Drifts were encountered up to 10 feet deep, and another plow truck and loader came to the rescue. Cleanup from the storm continues throughout central and southeast Wyoming.”
