A release provided by the Fremont County Sheriff’s Office, and confirmed by the Fremont County Coroner has indicated that one person is confirmed dead after a one-vehicle accident took place Monday afternoon.

Authorities were called to the accident on 17-Mile Road at 1:31 p.m. EMS, Fremont County Sheriff’s and the Wind River Police Department all arrived on scene. The accident took place roughly 2 miles west of St. Stephens High School, between Miller Ln. and C’Hair Ln.

A white passenger car appeared to have left a long series of skid marks, leaving debris in the road, before crashing through a fence and into a parked vehicle near a home. Initial reports indicated that neither occupant was wearing a seat belt and that at least one person had been ejected.

Authorities on scene indicated they thought the vehicle had rolled, however, that has not been confirmed. The vehicle was on its wheels when it came to rest.

The deceased individual was a female. Her identity or age has not been released by authorities at this time. A male occupant suffered non-life threatening injuries.
