State and local officials, WYDOT employees, law enforcement and more gathered at the intersection of North Federal Boulevard and Sunset Drive in Riverton this chilly morning, November 6th, to celebrate the end of the North Federal Boulevard Project.
“Over 20,000 cars use this road every day. This road connects our communities. It’s the north, south, east, west intersection of movement in this part of the state,” WYDOT Director Luke Reiner said during his speech at the ceremony. Project stats he noted include: 2 years, $14 million, 13,600-ish cubic yards of concrete, and 1.5 miles of construction. Reiner shared appreciation for everyone involved and working together in this partnership to complete the project.

Riverton Mayor Richard Gard also shared his appreciation for everyone’s efforts on this job during his speech at the ceremony. “I’m really grateful for the businesses in Riverton that put up with the no left-hand turns, problems getting into their businesses and I really do appreciate their efforts to hold together and to be helpful in this effort.”
Even though the ribbon cutting ceremony was held today, work will continue on the project to finish things like sidewalks. You can continue to expect updates as that work finishes.
