The Hitching Rack is back.
The east side Lander eatery re-opened Wednesday evening under new ownership. Local businesswoman Karen Hays has been working on renovating and reopening the business since July.
Wednesday was opening night at the restaurant and Hays told County 10 that, “everything went really well, it kept me on my toes, we were really busy.” She said despite some inconsistencies in the building’s past the community reaction had been, “well received, we’ve had a huge amount of support and people asking how they can help us.”
Hays says that she has plans to add a stage for live entertainment in the spring of 2019 and add an additional bar-area so that the building can have both an indoor and outdoor bar.
The menu is all new and features brick oven pizzas. Hays said the customer favorite on opening night, however, was the salmon. “We do it with a chardonnay sauce and dill, it’s really good,” she said.
The Hitching Rack is open for dinner Wednesday through Saturday 4:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m. at 785 E Main Street. They’ll join a handful of other Lander dining options.
