    Julia Thayer

    Julia Stevie Thayer, loving mother, daughter, and sister was born December 31, 1985 in Lander, WY, the daughter of Western ‘Gus’ Thayer and Ruth Thayer. She passed away at the age of 34 in Henderson, NV.

    Julia lived in Fort Washakie, WY on the Wind River Indian Reservation until she moved with her family to Henderson, NV. She attended college at the University of Wyoming and College of Southern Nevada. Julia was a wonderful mother and writer, and she was treasured in the deaf community. She was a loving and loyal friend to so many. She enjoyed little adventures with her son, hiking and board games with family, avidly reading and NFL football (Raiders).

    She is survived by her son Wyatt Ryder Thayer-Emmons, her mother Ruth Thayer, her father Gus Thayer (companion Fran Bigman), her sisters Helen Thayer (Chris Beatty) and Noma Thayer, and her brother Western V. Thayer; her grandmothers Annette (Crispin) Bell and Alberta ‘Tiny’ Friday; aunts Rebecca Knudsen, Joette Thayer, Julie Kutch (John), and Jeri Michelle Thayer; uncles John Friday (Michelle), Clinton Daniels, George (Mike) Daniels, Mark Thayer (Renae), James Thayer, and Val Thayer; and by many family members who are too numerous to mention. She was preceded in death by her grandfathers George Daniels and Jerry Thayer; aunts Sharon Thayer and Virginia (Daniels) Porath; uncle Everett Daniels; cousins Deanne ‘Tyvones’ Coando, Kennard ‘Bird’ Burnett, and Ryan Burnett; and great-grandparents Herman and Daisy St. Clair, and Helen Cedartree.

    Julia will lie in state at 153 North Fork Road, beginning at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, July 6, 2020. Services will be held at the same location at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 7. She will be laid to rest next to her aunt Sharon Thayer, in family services at the Sacajawea Cemetery in Fort Washakie, WY on Tuesday, July 7.
