On the afternoon of July 29th, a one-vehicle rollover on US 20/26 east of Shoshoni claimed the lives of 32-year-old Riverton resident Carmella Driftwood and 30-year-old Lander resident Rikki Shakespeare.
The initial release from Wyoming Highway Patrol stated alcohol was being investigated as a possible contributing factor. Today, the Fremont County Coroner report was released and says that both Driftwood and Shakespeare had BAC levels over .3%. Which is higher than the current legal limit of .08%, according to alcohol.org. Methamphetamine is also noted on both of their reports under “relevant toxicology.”
