    Harold Delbert “Harry” Day

    Harold Delbert “Harry” Day, of Lander, died in his home on November 11, 2019 surrounded by his family. A public visitation will be held 5:00pm – 7:00pm, on Monday, November 18, 2019 at the Chapel of Mount Hope, Hudson’s Funeral Home, Lander. The Funeral Service will be 10am, Tuesday, November 19, 2019 in the First United Methodist Church, 262 N 3rd St, Lander, WY 82520. Burial will follow in the Mount Hope Cemetery, Lander.

    Harold Delbert Day was born February 18, 1959 to Lloyd and Lorraine Day in Casper, Wyoming. He attended school in the Lander School District.

    His first job was during his 7th and 8th grade years with John Grieves, working in the hay field for 50 cents a day. Harry thought he was cutting a fat hog when John upped his pay to 85 cents a day, a year later. He continued his work the oilfield, weed and pest, and High Country Construction and Don Hitshew. He worked for several local ranchers in Fremont County which included Bob Thomsen, Bill Ruby, Gary Gordon, Henry Slingerland, and the Nature Conservancy. He also rode pens and worked in the doctoring of cattle at the Jim Millers Feedlot at LaSalle, Colorado. Harold’s biggest passion was riding horses and passing that passion on to his kids and grandchildren.

    In 2005 Harry purchased his grandparents place on Willow Creek. He ran cattle, horses, and put up hay until his passing.

    On August 7, 1982 Harry married Carol A. Clement at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Faulkton, South Dakota. Harry was grateful for sharing his life with his wife, Carol and 6 children; Nicole Day of Aurora, Colorado, Stefanie (Bjorn) Tonsberg of Sidney, Texas, Tye (Marillyn) Day of Kinnear, Wyoming, Trent (Trista) Day of Riverton, Wyoming, Lindsay (Trenton) Adams of Riverton, Wyoming, and Brett Day of Riverton, Wyoming.

    He also had 12 grandchildren; Katelyn, Justin, Emily, Garrett, Alexis, Aiden, Colter, Wyatt, Ali, Adi, Morgin, and Halie.

    His parents Lloyd and Lorraine Day and 4 sisters; Phyllis Green of Riverton, Wyoming, Janet Day of Lander, Wyoming and Verna Worthey of Lander, Wyoming.

    He is preceded in death by his Grandparents, Aggie and Lloyd Day Sr., Maurice and Loretta Logue, Uncle Danny Logue, sister-in-law Bettye Clement.

    Hudson’s Funeral Home of Lander, Wyoming has been entrusted with Harry’s arrangements.

    In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate memorials mailed directly to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
