“I was born and raised in Lander so I couldn’t be more excited to be stepping into this position where I can provide service and support to the people in the community I love,” shared Justus.
Justus grew up about 5 miles outside of town where his family has a small cattle ranch. “I am grateful for the support of my family and the lessons they have taught me, both of my grandpas taught me work-ethic and an entrepreneurial spirit. My parents have always supported me on my endeavors including my desire to get my pilot’s license at 17 and attend farrier (horseshoeing) school in Oklahoma to work my way through college. My brother Graham, a US Marine for a dozen years, earned a Silver Star and a Purple Heart and taught me grit. All these people and this community have certainly shaped who I am today.
Justus and his wife of eight years, Taylor, moved here almost 4 years ago to raise their three boys in Lander. “It’s important for me to see citizens and businesses in this community thrive, I want my boys to be exposed to experiences that are valuable for success.”

Through a variety of experiences, Justus has progressed down a financial track starting with his Business Finance degree from the University of Wyoming, to banking experience here (First Interstate Bank), and in other locations around the country (US Bank, San Diego) as well as a commercial insurance representative (San Diego), which greatly interested him. There was even a stint in the oil fields’ of North Dakota and Colorado as a roughneck. You can take the boy from Wyoming, but…
