Fremont County man allegedly uses cinder block to break into Riverton restaurant; Stole several bottles of wine

On March 7th, Riverton Police Department officers were dispatched to the Cowboy Cafe, located at 203 East Main Street for a report of a theft and property destruction.

Officers reported in court documents that a window on the west side of the building appeared to have had a cinder block thrown through it, creating the entry point for the burglary.

The manager of the business reported several bottles of wine missing from the restaurant.

After RPD reviewed the security footage from the Cowboy Cafe, the suspect was identified as 30-year-old Winter Runsclosetolodge.

Officers were able to identify Runsclosetolodge because he was arrested for a different crime that same evening. According to a police media release, RPD was called at 11:28 p.m. March 6th because Winter had been refused service at a Main Street bar. He began verbally arguing with employees, then proceeded to kick one of the employee vehicles in the parking lot, causing a dent.

Ultimately, Runsclosetolodge ran to the rooftop of a Main Street building where he was arrested after a short police chase. Court documents show that Runsclosetolodge told officers while being arrested, “F*** you. Do your job. I can steal some liquor if I want. I’m a vigilante.”

Currently, Runsclosetolodge is facing one count of burglary, punishable by up to 10 years of imprisonment and a fine of up to $10,000. He’s also facing one count of property destruction and defacement, punishable by up to 6 months of imprisonment and up to a $750 fine.
