CWC Women win another golf tournament; Men finish fourth at McCook

The Rustlers played on a tough course last week at McCook, Nebraska, but still performed pretty well.  The men, again, placed 4th with Cameron Carter and Dawson Ritt tying for 9th place with a two day total of 164. They were followed by Jorden James at 19th, James Bisiar 27th and Christian Hnilicka 32nd.
The ladies won their 4th straight tournament, and Macy Jacobson captured her 4th straight individual title. Macy was followed by Nicholynne Garbutt who finished 8 shots back from Macy, then Samalie Prom 3rd. Kaylee Smith finished 7th, followed by Lexi Cornell 8th, Arianna Curtis 10th and Makayla Waldock 11th.
“The course played extremely hard this week with only 3 players putting 2 rounds in the 70’s. It’s a course where it has to be target golf with little margin for error hitting the fairways. Cameron and Dawson played respectably with only having a couple bad holes each, but I felt they struck the ball well and made good decisions,” said Coach Holgate.  “Macy, who didn’t play her best, was good enough to take another 1st place finish. Macy doesn’t make a lot of mistakes and plays pretty solid week after week. Nicholynne played pretty well this week with a 2nd place finish. Nicholynne is starting to gain some confidence and will be a contender in the next two tournaments. Samalie had a rough tournament, but I know she will bounce back. Kaylee played well this week getting 7th overall and picking up a top 10 finish. Lexi and Arianna also made top 10 finishers and Makayla dropping her scores each day.”
The teams will travel to LaJunta, Colorado to play at the Otero tournament on Thursday & Friday.
