Last night’s City Council meeting started with Lander Ward 2 Councilwoman Melinda Cox officially announcing that she would step down from her council position.
During her announcement Cox stated, “I would like to express my gratitude to the Council as well as the City employees for their last four years of support.” In explaining her resignation Cox added that it was “due to additional family needs and care I have relocated to another ward within the city of Lander immediately.”
Kind words of appreciation for Cox’s service were expressed by her fellow council members.
At times you asked some hard questions, and that’s a good thing. I think you’ve done a great job. – Mayor Del McComie addressing Councilwoman Cox
Cox is also part of the Lander Planning Commission and Board of Examiners.
