Coroner – Riverton’s temporary body storage cooler now in place

(Lander, Wyo.) – Fremont County Coroner Mark Stratmoen reported Tuesday that a new temporary body storage cooler’s construction has been completed. “It was delivered and placed at the Fremont County Emergency Management Agency’s garage bay in Riverton on this past Thursday,” he told the commissioners. Stratmoen said Building Maintenance Supervisor J. R. Oakley’s crew are finishing the project and that an electrician is working on that phase of the project, “so we expect it to be operational shortly.” The new facility was fashioned out of a freight shipping container.

He reported the project has come in under budget. “The building department has done a state-of-the-art piece of work at considerable less cost than a pre-manufactured unit and they should be commended for the fine job,” he said.

He invited the commissioners, when in Riverton, to give him a call and he’d show them the new cooler. He also said local media would be invited to see the cooler after it is operational.
