Chip sealing in progress between Lovell and Cowley on U.S. 310

    WYDOT shares the following:

A week’s worth of U.S. 310 chip sealing began on the $11.7 million Sage Creek highway and bridge improvement project between Lovell and Cowley.

“Motorists should expect delays and reduced speed limits during chip sealing,” according to Wyoming Department of Transportation resident engineer Michael Miller of Basin.

Miller said Shoshone River bridge improvements are continuing, and traffic will soon be moving across the river via the outside of each side of the bridge. “Work will begin soon on the two lanes on the inside of the bridge,” he said. “Demolition of the old railroad bridge is ongoing and should be complete in early July.”

The $11.7 million Sage Creek highway and bridge improvement project consists of road widening, bridge widening over the Shoshone River, replacement of the Sage Creek and railroad bridges, asphalt paving, and other work.

The prime contractor is S&S Builders, LLC, of Gillette. The contract completion date is Oct. 31, 2019.
