At Riverton City Council meeting on Tuesday the council decided to table discussion about the Buffalo subdivision rezoning to the next meeting in January. The property is next to Jaycee Park on Sunset Blvd and the rezoning in question would allow for larger projects to be proposed for the area.
Council member Dean Peranteaux said he wanted the council to have more time to think about the disorderly house clause if an eventual apartment complex goes up in the area as a precaution.
“It’s important that we are judicial,” he said after one community member expressed concern over the rezoning, while other residents spoke up in approval of the effort.
Mayor Gard also added that he expects the rezoning to eventually go through, but the council wants to look further into disorderly house standards.
