    #WhatsHappening: Fundraiser, law enforcement torch run and more this weekend

    (Fremont County, WY) – The busy summer weekends continue here in the 10 as July is on the horizon. A few events on tap include Wyoming’s largest powwow, Make-A-Wish fundraiser, Law Enforcement Torch Run with Special Olympics and more.

    Starting Friday, the 61st Eastern Shoshone Indian Days Powwow begins in Fort Washakie. The royalty pageant, specials/memorials as well as a memorial hand game tournament are planned for today. Grand entries are happening at noon and 5 pm on Saturday, and noon on Sunday. Additional details can be found here.

    Head to Lander’s City Park Saturday morning at 8 am to participate in the 1st annual Lander Valley High School Dash of Dreams 5k/10k walk, run or bike event to raise money for Make-A-Wish Wyoming. Pre-register online here or at 7:15 am tomorrow. More details can be found here.

    Local law enforcement and Special Olympics athletes will carry the “Flame of Hope” through Riverton on Saturday at 11 am. It begins at 1st and Main which is the Bank of the West parking lot (123 E Main St.), gathering on the East side of the building in the parking lot. The run will end at Phil’s Dog Shak (N 7 E and Main St.). The community is invited to cheer them on. Click here for more details.
