    Summer kicks off with Spring Spectacular, Pavillion Cowboy Days, street fair, a cornhole tourney, free fishing, a doggy 5K and more!

    Fairs, family fun, and entertainment! A lot of Summer ‘kick-off and celebrations going on, and looks like there will be something for everyone this weekend in Fremont County, and with it, some fantastic weather as well!

    As you plan your weekend calendar and get out and about, don’t forget that the Riverton Saturday Farmers’ Market is now in the Riverton City Hall parking lot; check them out from 9:00-11:00 a.m. in the nice open air!  Not only that, now the Lander Valley Farmers Market is opening this Saturday (there’s a street fair going on in Lander, too). Dubois has a mini-golf event going on, and don’t forget that their Friday Night Rodeos are gearing up to kick off this month on June 14th. The Riverton and Lander libraries will be having their book sales going on this summer, be sure to check out and sign up for their Summer reading programs and events (Riverton kicks off their program today). And it’s garage sale season now, so if you’re having one, make sure you get it posted in County 10 Garage Sales!

    As we begin to celebrate these warm summer months (finally!)…shop local, be safe, drive responsibly to and from your destinations, and most of all…have fun!

    Bookworms unite! The Riverton Library Children’s Department Summer Reading Kickoff Fair is today from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. All are invitees to come for some fun and treats, community organization booths…sign up for the library’s Summer Reading Program!     It’s the Fremont County Spring Spectacular this weekend! The Carnival is already going on…there’ll be a Friday Night Lights Show, Bull Riding Extravaganza, and the ever-popular Figure 8 Frenzy on Saturday.     Wow! It’s been thirty years for Wyoming.com in serving Fremont County (and beyond!), so today they’re having their 30th Anniversary Celebration from 12:00 Noon to 2:00 p.m., 937 West Main Street in Riverton.     Calling all anglers! It’s Free Fishing Day today all over the state of Wyoming! Check out the times and locations on the Wyoming Game & Fish website. Riverton Kiwanis is putting on their ‘Kids Hooked on Fishing (Not Drugs)’ event at Rendezvous Ponds from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. with free fishing poles and lunch provided. Boysen Marina is waiving their day-use fees and will offer free kayaks and paddleboards. The Popo Agie Anglers will be holding their event at Luckey Pond from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.; lunch provided, plus fishing rods and tackle provided by North Platte Walleyes (FYI…Dubois will be having their fishing day on June 8).

    It’s a special morning for our canine companions! It’s the popular Fast & Furriest 5K, with check-in at 7:30 a.m. in CWC’s Circle Drive. This fun annual event is open to runners, walkers, skaters, even horseback riders! Even if you don’t participate in the race, there will be mini-expo activities, Yoga with Puppies, the Doggy Weiner Dive (hilarious!), a costume contest, an animal talent show, face painting, music…this is a great fundraising event for the Critical Care Companion Animal Fund which aids urgent care for pets, a very much needed service in our community!.     Awesome fun going on in Dubois today for their Town-Wide Mini-Golf Spring Fling! Scorecards are just $10 at participating business locations; Early Bird scorecards are due today (Friday) at 12 Noon to be entered into a raffle to win a one-night’s stay at the Crooked Creek and a $200 gift certificate for the restaurant! deadline! Meet at Antelope Hills Golf Course, 126 Clubhouse Dr at 12 Noon, purchase your scorecards and maps, then spend an afternoon of mini-golf and visiting various Dubois businesses.     Get your cornhole teams together and sign up for a tournament that supports a great cause! The Eagle’s Hope Cornhole Tournament is this afternoon at the Riverton Elks, 207 East Main Street. Registration is at 3:00 p.m.; fee is $50. Bags fly at 3:30 p.m. There will be live music, a silent auction, and a taco bar for a suggested donation of $10/plate.
