    Fremont County Fire Protection District spotlights volunteer of the month for June

    (Fremont County, WY) – The Fremont County Fire Protection District continues to spotlight the volunteer Firefighters who make up its ranks, and has shared that Rio Stafford is the volunteer of the month for June.

    “Rio has been a Fremont County Firefighter since 2021,” the spotlight states, and he is currently a member of the Crowheart Fire Department.

    “When not responding to calls and devoting time to the fire department, Rio and his family are busy ranching, so when they can, they enjoy hunting and spending time in the outdoors.”

    The Fremont County Fire District has over 100 volunteer firefighters, who have dedicated hundreds of hours to serving the communities in which they live. The Fremont County Fire District provides emergency services to 6,000 of Fremont County’s 10,000 square miles. Fire Departments from the communities of Lysite, rural Lander, Missouri Valley, Kinnear, Crowheart, Pavillion, Midvale, Atlantic City, Hudson, North Portal, Fort Washakie, and Shoshoni all came together to form the District.
