    Happy Father’s Day weekend! Plenty going on and so much fun to be had…Hudson Daze, Hot Summer Nights bball, some fundraisers and treks… and it looks like some perfectly nice warm weather to boot!

    Seems there’s a bit of road construction going on around the county, so be sure to slow down for the cone zones! The Lander Reverse Triathlon is also going on Saturday, so be aware of those competing athletes out there. Dubois Friday Night Rodeos kick off tonight…you have your Saturday Farmers Markets, pop some tags at a Garage Sale or a few…

    All kinds of great stuff going on to take dear ol’ Dad to, so beat the heat, hydrate often, practice fire and water safety, shop local, drive responsibly, but most of all…have fun!

    On Friday…

    Hudson Daze kicks off today with their Gold Star Memorial and Flag Retirement Ceremony at 12 Noon, then the Gun Show starts at 2:00 p.m. Get up early on Saturday there’s a Pancake Breakfast from 6:00-9:00 a.m. at the Baptist Church, and tethered balloon rides from 7:00-9:00 a.m. in the baseball field parking lot. The gun show continues today, plus there’s an awesome Car & Bike Show, all sorts of vendors, food, live music, and more! It’s a day to celebrate Hudson, Wyoming!     Main Street Dance presents their ‘Saved My Life’ 20th Anniversary Recital tonight and tomorrow night at 6:00 p.m. at CWC’s Robert A. Peck Arts Center. A recital celebrating their new beginnings in 2005 and through the years to the present! For admission info, visit their Facebook page.

    It’s time for another great season of Dubois Friday Night Rodeos, starting at 7:30 p.m. every Friday night through August 23rd at the Clarence Allen Memorial Arena. It’s a real west, family-friendly rodeo starting out with Mutton Bustin, calf riding, mini bull riding and Pee Wee barrell racing, followed by the Grand Entry and then get down with some authentic, real west rodeo entertainment! Tickets are $15 for adults, $10 for kids 6-12 and kids 5 and under are free (no dogs allowed, except for service animals).     The Cowboy State Stack Horse Association presents the Laurie Gardner Memorial Ranch Days, today and Sunday at the Fremont County Fairgrounds in Riverton. The show starts at 8:00 a.m. on both days. On Saturday, there’s Open Team Sort, Youth Team Sort, Youth Sac and Flag Races.     The Girl Scouts will be having a special event at the Riverton Museum this morning at 10:00 a.m….it’s an unveiling and donation of a refurbished gate that was made over 20 years ago to celebrate the 90th anniversary of the U.S. Girl Scouts! The event in 2002 featured over 1,000 of Wyoming’s Girl Scouts converging on Riverton for a multiple-day celebration.     Trek to the Pacific Springs on the Pioneer Museum’s Pacific Springs/Oregon Trail Adventure Trek with Craig Bromley. He’ll guide you on a tour through the history of the significant spot on the Oregon Trail from the Native Americans through the Mountain men to the Emigrants. An awesome walk through history! Reservations required; $15 per person. Meet at the museum at 10:00 a.m. to carpool to the site (a high-clearance vehicle is recommended) The trek is about 3.5 hours.     Lander Valley High School Speed Goat Orienteering Fundraiser Meet is today from 10:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at LVHS (look for the signs). Beginner, Advanced Beginner, and Intermediate levels will compete. Participants can walk, jog, or run…courses for all skill levels! Maps and compasses provided. Bring your own water, snacks, and wear comfy shoes and light clothing! Pre-registration is not required, donations much appreciated! Come out and support future Speed Goat Orienteering events!
