Florida trio arrested after reported Riverton bar incident, officer assault

All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

(Riverton, WY) – Florida residents Remington, Ranger and Maverick Gilliland, were all arrested late Tuesday, early Wednesday morning after a reported incident at a bar in Riverton, according to the Riverton Police Department call log issued on May 22.

RPD received a call at 12:35 AM on May 22, advising of a possible assault on a bartender at a bar located on N Broadway Ave.

The call log states that in addition to shoving the bartender, one of the subjects reportedly “threatened others with a pool ball.”

When responding officers tried to ask Remington (23, from St. McAlpin) about the assault, he reportedly “became violent, yelling racial epithets at the officer,” and then “resisted by placing the officer in a headlock.”

The officer sustained multiple injuries during this incident, including a cut lip, scraped fingers and knuckles, and scrapes on the wrist that resulted in bleeding.

Remington was subsequently charged with assault for the previous incident with the bartender, as well as assault on a police officer for the mentioned resistance.

Ranger (29, from Santa Rosa Beach) reportedly “jumped into the fray” as well, and he too was subsequently arrested for resisting and assault on a police officer.

The third individual, Maverick (20, from Islamorada), who had also “pitched in,” was charged with resisting arrest and minor in possession, “with a BAC of .033.”

County 10 will provide updates on the case as they become available.
