The Fremont County School District 2 (Dubois) Board of Trustees will hold a regular meeting at 6 p.m. Tuesday, May 21, in the Board Room at the District Administration Building, 700 N. First St. in Dubois.
The agenda includes the approval of a donation of 200 “bat and ball combo sets” from an organization called Sweetspot.
The board will also consider approving two resignations, from Assistant Girls High School Basketball Coach Piper Naylon and High School Science Teacher Samantha Schwessinger.
Naylon’s resignation letter indicates she is going to focus on pursuing her master’s degree, and Schwessinger’s letter says she has accepted another teaching position.
The board will consider approving the hiring of Allison Baas as the high school science teacher for the 2024-2025 school year.
During presentations, the board will:
-hear from K-5 teachers and CTE Teacher Lidia Haughey
-recognize state track participants and retirees
-hear a report on Dubois Parent Teacher Association Elite Scholarship Award Criteria
Administrators will update the board on school initiatives, activities, and events, and the business manager will review the budget to date.
Discussion items for Tuesday include:
-upcoming work sessions and training opportunities
-review of Child Internet Protection Act
-review of annual mill levies
-update on 2024-2025 budget
-review high school social studies curriculum adoption
Under action items, the board will consider approving:
-the 2024-2025 BOCHES budget
-annual mill levies
-high school social studies curriculum adoption
There will be an executive session regarding personnel before adjournment.
